You can share one of these recruitment tools through your Blackboard (BB) announcement area which gives you the option of sending emails as well. You can share/embed the links on your BB site. *The semester just started, and I don’t know my students well enough to make a recommendation. What should I do?
-You can simply share the resources in order to spark your student’s interest in the program. You can also reach out to former students from the previous semester who are still enrolled at the college. View your past rosters to locate specific students. Email them information about the program, identify the skill they have, and encourage them to submit the student recruitment form: https://forms.office.com/r/5R4xHNwdSk.
*Should I nominate a student or encourage them to sign up on their own?
-You have options. You can choose either/or. If you choose to nominate a student, please have a conversation with them first so they are aware of the program/opportunity. Once you input their information into the nomination form, Prof. Dashiell/Savoy will reach out to the student and take it from there. -This program gives students the opportunity to develop skills in multiple areas such as leadership, public speaking, collaboration, etc.
*What do I do if I’m interested in attending the student panel discussion or monthly student-led workshops?
-Look out for Students Teaching Teachers when you sign-up/attend College Professional Development and Enrichment Day. We also update this website with specific panel discussion/workshop details on the homepage.
*I want to attend the panel/discussion and/or workshop, but I do not feel comfortable attending face-to-face. What do I do?
-There will be virtual options for the panel discussion and all workshops.
*Since the workshops will be held on Wednesdays from noon to 1pm, what do I do if I want to attend but have class or a conflict during that time?
-The sessions will be recorded and made available to faculty.
*What if there are specific things I want to learn from students (i.e. TikTok in the classroom, integrating LGBTQ experiences in the curriculum, etc.)? How can I share that information?
